Deep and Calm

My poem "Deep and Calm" came to me while I was meditating on the words "deep and calm" that God gave to me as I was imagining my time with Him. I have been in this personal spiritual formation journey with my God for a while over the last several years and the most precious time has been those deep and calm places of "togetherness". I could see me sitting deep down under the ocean next to Jesus and it felt so calm and peaceful. I could forget all about the world and enjoy His presence with me. We were just hanging out and relaxing down under the deep sea.

I was reminded of the depth and calmness of the deep sea. It was a reminder and invitation that Jesus wanted to take me furhter in my soul journey. Yes, I want my soul to sit with Jesus and stay with Jesus deep within -- not being moved at all by anything or anyone of this world. You see, I believe that we are created in God's image and we are also meant to live our life in union with God. We don't have to wait untill we get to heaven to be with God, see God, and live in His Kingdom. It is available to us here and now on earth. Jesus came to this world in human form to show us how to have this relationship with God. Of course, He opened the way for all of us through His death on the cross and his resurrection, so that we can live forever with God.

Do you remember the Lord's prayer in Matthew 6:9-10? "Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." This is the prayer that Jesus taught His disciples when He was on earth. He asked us to pray that God's kingdom come, God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven. I believe that God's kingdom is where God is ruling. As I am learning to give my heart over to my God and learning to surrender my life wholly to Him, I am experiencing His kingdom in my heart and in my life.

What a joy, peace, and love it brings to my heart! I have created this website called "deepandcalm.ca" to share my journey with those who are desiring to go deeper into their souls. I have been so blessed with abundance and peace on this journey, I would love to see others experience this also.
